The highlights of what SilverBullet can do. Unless a feature is marked otherwise, it works everywhere: in the browser, on your phone, and in SilverBullet Desktop.
Editing & writing
- Live Preview editor. Write plain markdown and see it rendered as you type: links, tasks, tables, code and widgets.
- Tasks. Checklists anywhere in your notes, with custom states, gathered and queried across your whole space.
- Templates. Start new pages from templates, and insert snippets with slash commands.
- Daily journal. One page per day, a keystroke away, with quick steps to the previous and next day.
- Outlining. Move, indent and fold nested lists, with or without a keyboard.
- Vim mode. Vim keybindings and ex commands, for those who can’t live without them.
- Images, PDFs and more. Drop in images, audio, video and PDFs and view them right in your space.
- Comments. Leave a note on any line for yourself or your team, and resolve it when it’s done.
Links, queries & exploring
- Wiki links. Link any page, heading or spot with [[double brackets]]; a link to a page that doesn’t exist yet creates it.
- Linked Mentions. Every page shows everywhere it’s mentioned, with context.
- Transclusions. Embed a page, a section or an image inside another page.
- Live queries. Query your notes like a database, right inside a page; results update as your notes change.
- Tags. Tag pages, tasks and items with #hashtags, and browse everything that carries a tag.
- Object Graph. Explore your pages and how they relate as an interactive graph.experimental
Customization
- Space Lua. A scripting language built into your notes: add commands, widgets and automations with a few lines, no build step.
- Widgets. Render buttons, lists and custom views inline, generated from your content.
- Space Style. Restyle SilverBullet with CSS written in a page, from a tweak to a whole theme.
- Libraries. Install libraries others have shared, and read exactly what they do: they’re pages in your space.beta
Sync, collaboration & sharing
- Live sync. Edits from your other devices and teammates show up within seconds.experimental
